Hollywood, CA: Your 2013 Oscars Transit Strategy

Click here to watch the 2013 Oscars LIVE online!

Are you in the Los Angeles area and want to take part in the movie industry's biggest night?

In anticipation of the temporary closure of the Hollywood-Highland subway station, and for that matter an entire block of Hollywood Blvd, for the 2013 Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, I bring you my very own transit strategies...to be deployed Sunday afternoon of February 23rd. In other words, Oscars Day!

The world-famous Red Carpet staging area is going to be along Hollywood Blvd, between Highland Ave and La Brea Ave.

The Red Line subway will skip Hollywood/Highland; use Hollywood/Vine to access the Oscars.

BY SUBWAY: Use the Hollywood/Vine station and walk west about a mile. There's so much to see, i.e. weirdo's, transients, drunks, hookers, pretentious wannabe's, etc. that you wouldn't notice the distance. There's also the irresistible tacky souvenir shopping along with the alluring aroma of freshly baked pizza.

BY BUS: Use the Sunset Blvd (Line 2) bus for east-west routes, the Cahuenga Blvd bus (Line 222) for north-south routes north of Hollywood and the La Brea bus (Line 212) for north-south routes south of Hollywood. Shouldn't take more than 2 rides from wherever you're coming.

N Highland Ave & Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028
If taking the bus, access all the action from Sunset, La Brea or Cahuenga. Read above for details.
