Los Angeles: See Fake "Everything" at The Grove in One Ride

Fakeness is what makes Hollywood well, Hollywood! On a pre-Christmas visit to The Grove at Farmer's Market with friends from the French Club, we enjoyed fake snow, fake snowmen, a fake gingerbread house, fake candy cane and fake people. Lots of fake people.

Jason, Vidya, me, Weleides and Lidia at a fake house in the middle of a fake boulevard at The Grove.

But the biggest fake of them all was the double-decker rail trolley that runs the length of this fake downtown. It's even got its own fake rail yard next to the fake town hall! Most of the action takes place at the park area, with animated fountains, live music and Extra! TV tapings daily; you can hop on the trolley from here to the Farmer's Market side.

The fake trolley runs along these rails, but it does take you from the park area to Farmer's Market.

What's not fake is how convenient it is to get here from most anywhere in the Los Angeles area (on 3rd and Fairfax). Hollywood? One ride. Downtown LA? One ride. Metro Rapid even connects The Grove with its evil stepsister in Glendale, The Americana at Brand.
